Kids in the Project

Gryka Dael, 2011-2017 ✞
Retinoblastoma
Gryka fell ill with Retinoblastoma (eye tumor) in 2013 and underwent surgery. However, the tumor spread to her neck and caused a large tumor to grow there. In July 2016, her treatment began again and was funded by donations. Unfortunately, the tumor returned and is incurable. Donations continued to be used for pain therapy. On October 2, 2017, Gryka Krisan Dael sadly passed away.
Current Patients

Junior
Langerhans cell histiocytosis
Junior has been with Help for Kids in the Philippines since October 2025 and has been suffering from Langerhans cell histiocytosis for a year. A rare disease that attacks his immune system and causes swelling in the bones and tissue. In Junior’s case, the swelling occurs mainly on the head and arms. He is then in great pain.
Former Patients

Dave
Leukemia
Dave is a 15-year-old boy who has been under our care since 2018. He was also diagnosed with leukemia. Just like the others, his parents cannot provide him with the treatment he needs due to their financial situation. We help Dave with his chemotherapy and his urgently needed medication.

Ember Nicole Remolano
acute lymphatic leukemia (ALL)
Ember fell ill with ALL in July 2014. The parents were able to pay for the treatment by putting all the income from the parents’ restaurant into the treatment and by borrowing money from relatives. Then Ember’s father died very suddenly of a heart attack in July 2017. We were able to take Amber in and pay for her further treatments, which the mother was no longer able to do on her own.

Aphrodite
Whooping Cough and Pneumonia
Aphrodite was admitted to the intensive care unit in February 2018 with acute pneumonia in connection with whooping cough. In the meantime, we were able to pay for the most necessary medication and treatments and Aphrodite is now doing well again, but the parents now have high debts, which we are trying to pay off through donations.

Rene Boy Junior Asilom
acute lymphatic leukemia (ALL)
Rene had been suffering from leukemia since January 2017. Exactly one year later, we admitted him to our program and paid for his chemotherapy through donations. Rene has been at Everlasting Hope since 2017 because he comes from the province of Bohol and can only receive the important therapies in Cebu. The monthly costs were approximately 280 - 350 euros per month.

Rachel
Complicated Leg Fracture with Implant
Rachel is 15 years old. In September 2018, we came across her by chance. She had a motorcycle accident and urgently needed an implant in her foot, otherwise the bone would not have healed properly and she would probably never have been able to walk properly again.

Kenzo
Hirschsprung's disease
Kenzo is 3 years old. He suffers from Hirschsprung’s disease, in which nerve cells in the intestine do not work and the intestine narrows. The parents were still able to finance the first operation for an artificial intestinal outlet, but he still needs other operations. We are supporting him in paying for his medication and his stomata. We want Kenzo to have his surgery now so he can lead a normal life.

Gabrilla Mae
Broken Thigh Bone at Birth
Baby Gabrilla Mae did not have a very good start in life. She was born via C-section, and due to unfortunate circumstances during birth, her thigh bone was broken. Unfortunately, she was born in a small clinic in the province. The advice given was not very good, and she was sent home. We were made aware of the case because the parents did not have the money for further examinations. We took her to an orthopedic specialist, and the leg has finally been splinted. A few more check-ups will follow, but everything looks good now, and the doctor was able to assure us that in a few weeks everything will be normal.
