Glen

Glen Rich is a 16-year-old boy who has a tumor between his lungs and heart. His brother contacted me and asked me to meet with him. Bryan, his 21-year-old brother, is a wonderful, kind young man who came to Cebu for his brother’s sake to take care of him and provide the best possible treatment. Together with his grandmother, they organize donations wherever they can to finance the treatment. When I asked where the parents were, he answered sadly that his mother was in the hospital in Cagayan de Oro (an island away from Cebu) with thyroid cancer, and his father was working to somehow pay for both treatments. We supported him through his treatments and surgeries. Unfortunately, Glen was not doing well and he decided to go home. We paid for his medication as Glen himself chose not to undergo further chemotherapy (which has a very low chance of success but many side effects). Glen passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.
